About Teaching Learning Centre (Tlc) at Slbsrsv

The proposed TEACHING LEARNING CENTRE (TLC) by Department of Education of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University got approval in IX Project Approval Board (PAB) meeting of PMMMNMTT held on 12th July, 2017 at MHRD Conference Hall, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. This Teaching Learning Centre is established in the component of Centres of Excellence for Curriculum and Pedagogy the scheme of PMMMNMTT a focus on pedagogic content and strategies to enhance quality of Teaching- Learning processes in the domain of Sanskrit Education. The centre assumes an added importance in the context of leaner centred approaches, ICT integrated learning and recent researches in new pedagogic approaches to teaching and learning in higher education.

Vision of the Centre

To prepare Teachers, Teacher Educators and Researchers for empowering to address the needs for designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching- learning systems in the field of Sanskrit Education with Commitment, Competence and Confidence.

Mission of the Centre

  • To promote and develop skills for capacity building of Sanskrit Teachers.
  • To plan, design and implement need-based teaching-learning systems with a focus on Sanskrit pedagogy.
  • To undertake and promote innovative programmes in the domain of Sanskrit pedagogy.
  • To augment concerns for research based strategies in respect to language pedagogy.

Objectives

To translate the vision of the centre into its mission the following objectives are being formulated:

  • To enhance pedagogic skills needed for effective implementation of teaching- learning process.
  • To develop and nurture competencies needed for integrating technology in teaching, learning and evaluation processes.
  • To develop instructional materials and manuals for Sanskrit teaching and learning.
  • To organize behaviour modification programmes for teachers.
  • To promote up gradation of skills in developing evaluation strategies for teaching- learning systems.
  • To design discipline specific curriculum at various levels of Education.
  • To inculcate competencies for taking-up researches in the area of language pedagogy.
